An exceptional junior recommended in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for employment, Paul Strelitz is now one of the most popular barristers on the circuit for employment disputes and contract/commercial litigation and advisory work.
Paul is registered with the Bar Council for public access and also accepts instructions from a number of Licensed Access clients. He is happy to discuss this directly as appropriate.
Paul Strelitz is now a well established employment practitioner who has consolidated his position as a very promising junior of note, having also obtained ‘Leading Individual’ status with an entry at Band 1 in Chambers and Partners since 2011, despite only being called to the Bar in 2005.
Within Chambers and Partners 2012 clients are quoted as saying that he is :
"an "excellent advocate" who impresses [our] sources with his forthright advice and clarity of expression.”
Within previous versions of this leading publication it was noted that he :
“...has a diverse employment practice. Applauded for his expert attention to detail and his excellent advocacy skills, and that, he is "a pleasure to watch in action." Solicitors appreciate his "calm demeanour and the clarity of his advice," noting that "he is able to inspire confidence in clients who he has only just met."
In its latest edition the Legal 500 describes him as having :
"a very commercial 'can do' approach to clients' legal problems"
Paul is regularly instructed by solicitors for both Respondent and Claimant work as a result of his ability and keenness to properly address the law, his effectively-firm style of cross examination and his overwhelming desire to be as helpful as possible to those that instruct him. His diverse practice means that recent cases have taken him from the Ashford Employment Tribunal up as far as the Tribunal in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with a number of cases acting alone against Queen's Counsel. He has undertaken multi-day trials in the High Court and also appeared in the Employment Appeal Tribunal. His Respondent clients range from multi-national broadcasters and banks, to small charities/family-run businesses.
Paul is in a tribunal or court many days every week but is still praised for his ability to turn around very helpful paperwork within required timescales. He is as happy being contacted in Chambers as he is by telephone out of office hours for injunctive or simple advisory matters, and as a result has a significant number of Solicitors who use Paul on a regular basis.
In line with Paul’s employment practice, he also undertakes work advising companies upon employment related legislation, including personal injury claims, as well as acting in contractual disputes up to and including the High Court.
Paul has acted for and advised both Claimants and Defendants on a variety of matters from the initial stages of litigation up to and including appearing as sole Counsel in multi-track disputes in general commercial and contractual disputes including those involving shareholders and director’s duties. This includes securing assets by way of freezing injunctions in the High Court or other interim applications as appropriate.
Paul, along with Richard Wood, has also set up a Public Access website which can be viewed at www.easlaw.co.uk
