Simon Gladwell BA (Lond)


Simon is an experienced trial advocate who has worked for 15 years in London. Now based in East Anglia, he is a formidable barrister combining the skill and experience gained from the cut and thrust of practising in London.


One of his many strengths is his dedication to his clients and to his cases, and his attention to detail. He is also renowned for his ability to build a rapport with his clients with his friendly and approachable manner, and is often personally requested by those he has represented before.


He has a particular interest in taking on cases where there has been an apparent miscarriage of justice or cases where just no one else will listen.


His areas of expertise include general crime, serious fraud, regulatory work, road traffic law, and prison law.
He undertakes all aspects of general criminal work, and his experience includes murder, serious fraud, money laundering and confiscation, serious violent crime, firearms offences, robbery, drugs importation and supply, arson, rape and sexual offences, conspiracy, public order offences and those against public justice.


Simon has gained particular skill and expertise in cases which involve such issues as a significant disclosure content, a forensic scientific content, the cross-examination of child and vulnerable witnesses, mental health issues, fitness to plead or to stand trial, duress, and cut-throat defences.
