Alice Newton B A (Oxon)

Alice grew up in East Anglia and attended Woodbridge School. She spent a year working at Wells Cathedral School, following which she read music at St Catherine’s College, Oxford, gaining a 2:1. Upon successful completion of the law conversion course and Bar Vocational Course she worked in the legal department at Essex County Council, initially as a member of the Commercial Law team and latterly gaining some experience in the Family team.

She completed pupillage at East Anglian Chambers in March 2011 and continues to engage in a broad practice. She spends a lot of time in the Magistrates’ Courts around East Anglia, both prosecuting and defending, and frequently appears in the Crown Court. She has experience in many aspects of family and civil law, from care work to contact disputes and matrimonial money, as well as RTAs and other small claims trials.
