East Anglian Chambers is seeking an experienced Barristers’ Clerk to join our dynamic clerking team in Ipswich. This full-time role (Monday to Friday, standard office hours) is based in our Ipswich centre and offers a competitive salary.

We provide expert advocacy and legal advice across a broad range of practice areas in the East Anglian region and beyond. The Role

As a Barristers’ Clerk, you will play a key role in the practice management of our barristers. Your duties will include managing diaries, liaising with solicitors and clients, fixing hearings and meetings, negotiating fees, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. You will work closely with our Senior Clerk and other team members to deliver top-quality support and service.

 

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • At least 3 years of clerking experience in a barristers’ chambers (exceptional candidates with slightly less experience will be considered).
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A solid understanding of the legal profession and the demands of a busy chambers.
