District Judge Carolyn Rothwell
14 March 2018EA Law – East Anglian Chambers wish to congratulate Carolyn Rothwell upon her appointment as a District Judge.
The Queen has appointed Carolyn Ann Rothwell to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
Carolyn was called to the Bar in 1991 and practised initially at 42 Bedford Row before joining Suffolk County Council’s Advocacy Unit. She joined the EA Law – East Anglian Chambers Family Law team in March 2016, undertaking all aspects of family work.
In addition to her work as an advocate she was also a qualified family mediator and in 2015 was appointed Deputy District Judge.
She has been appointed to sit at Ipswich as from 16th April 2018, filling the post vacated by another former member of chambers, HH Judge Graham Parnell, following his recent promotion to the circuit bench at Chelmsford County and Family Court.
