Members of Chambers contribute to Seminar “Practitioner’s Toolkit for Contested Probate”
On Tuesday 14 July 2026, five members of East Anglian Chambers spoke at the Norfolk and Norwich Law Society’s seminar, “Practitioner’s Toolkit for Contested Probate”, hosted by Birketts at its Norwich offices.
The seminar was designed as a practical guide to the issues that most often arise when an estate is disputed, with each speaker taking one of the recurring battlegrounds:
Simon Redmayne on mutual wills;
Michael Allin on the statutory order of application in solvent estates;
Nicholas Michael on capacity and undue influence;
Jake Newell on fraud, forgery and digital assets; and
Rupert Myers on the validity of wills.
The talks drew on recent authority and on the speakers’ experience of contested probate work across the region, and were followed by an opportunity for practitioners to talk over the issues informally.
Chambers is grateful to the Norfolk and Norwich Law Society for organising the event and for the warmth of its welcome, and to Birketts for generously hosting. Our thanks also go to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion.
East Anglian Chambers has a long-established contentious probate and private client practice, and members regularly advise and appear in disputes concerning the validity of wills, capacity, undue influence, fraud and forgery, and the administration of estates.
