Job Vacancy: Second Junior Clerk
23 June 2026East Anglian Chambers is seeking an experienced Barristers’ Clerk to join our dynamic clerking team in Ipswich. This full-time role (Monday to Friday, 9:00-5:30pm) is based in our Ipswich centre and offers a competitive salary.
The Role
As Second Junior, you will supervise junior staff members to proactively manage the diary, and will be integral to the management of our barristers’ practices. Responsibilities will include liaising with solicitors and clients, fixing hearings and meetings, negotiating fees, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. You will work closely with our Senior Clerk and other team members to deliver top-quality support and service.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:
- At least 3 years of clerking experience in a Barristers’ Chambers.
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A solid understanding of the legal profession and the demands of a busy chambers.
