The Queen has appointed David Samuel Pugh to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Michael Gove MP, and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.

The members and staff of EA Law – East Anglian Chambers congratulate District Judge David Pugh, who currently sits at Norwich Combined Court, on his appointment as a Circuit Judge.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midland Circuit, based at Northampton Combined Court with effect from 25th July 2016.

David, aged 61, will be known as His Honour Judge Pugh. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1978. He was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 2002, as a District Judge in 2008 and also as a Recorder in 2008. Until his appointment in 2008 he served as Head of Chambers following the elevation of his predecessor, Roderick Newton, to the Circuit Bench.
